Each piece is unique
Our cherry wood panels with double-sided tree edge are lovingly handcrafted from high-quality solid wood. It is a purely natural product, which we manufacture from one piece of solid cherry wood - just as the trunk has grown. This gives each piece its individual character and rustic charm. The typical properties of cherry wood are preserved:
- naturally curved tree edges
- harmonious fine structure
- light reddish-brown to golden rust-brown colouring
- splint wood whitish to yellowish grey
- matt glossy surface
Dimension: length: at choice / thickness: approx. 40 mm / depth: 25 - 30 cm
Surface treatment: at choice raw, oiled or lacquered.
Depending on how the trunk has grown, the width can be in the range between 25 - 30 cm. Due to the naturally curved tree edges, the total width of the board may vary by +/- 3 cm. Likewise, the thickness may vary minimally.
Material:
Cherrywood is a very robust wood, with hard surface and long durability. This makes it ideal for a wide range of applications in outdoor and indoor areas. This natural wood product brings natural character. At the same time, each piece has its own individual appearance. Due to the vivid grain and the slightly shiny surface, you get a product that is particularly decorative and noble. Each shelf is unique and is made to order.
The cherry wood is technically dried to approx. 8-12% and thus free of vermin and pests.The tree edges are debarked, planed and sanded over.
Application:
- Excellent for interior use
- Most suitable for creative DIY projects such as furniture pieces, worktops, wall decorations, wardrobes, etc.
Treatment:
Hardwood can be worked easily and cleanly with conventional tools. For nails and screws it is recommended to pre-drill
The chosen surface treatment:
Rough surface: You can finish the untreated surface as you wish afterwards, by staining, oiling, glazing or varnishing.
Oiled surface: A treatment with wood oil intensifies the natural texture, the surface appears warmer. The oil also protects the wood, making it more resistant to dust, dirt and moisture. The wood retains its naturalness and remains breathable. The natural structure and grain of the wood even come into their own as a result.
Varnished surface: An additional varnish of the surface, offers optimal protection against dust, moisture and sunlight. The natural structure and grain of the wood are completely preserved.
Note: Ferrous metals in combination with moisture cause blue-grey discolouration in cherry wood, so insensitive fasteners and fittings are required.
