Parquet oil in raw wood effect
OLI-NATURA Scandic Oil - Classic is inspired by Scandinavian style and combines a natural look with surface protection. It makes light wood look as if untreated and freshly sanded. The natural colour of the wood is almost unfired (highlighted). Only during processing does a colour deepening appear in the wet phase. This, however, disappears in the course of drying.
This oil gets its raw wood effect from a VOC-free compound of vegetable oils, which we emulsify in water. Added to this is a fine pinch of light-stable white pigments, which round off the raw wood effect and provide UV protection. Due to its low viscosity, Scandic-Oil Classic is recommended for roller application on light wood floors such as oak, fir, spruce or ash.
The dried coating is harmless to humans, animals and plants, complies with DIN EN 71-3 ( Safety of toys) as well as DIN 53160 ( Saliva and perspiration resistant) and is a building product approved by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). Thanks to the intelligent formulation, the oil-soaked rags, pads or brushes do not tend to self-ignite
.The application
Preparation:Sand the wood surface carefully. Start with coarse sanding. Final sanding for furniture surfaces with P240 grit. Wood moisture content: 8-12%. The surface must be dry, thoroughly cleaned and free of oil, wax, grease, silicone and sanding dust. Apply material at room temperature.
Application: For the first oil application, apply oil evenly and generously with a short-pile microfibre roller. Work quickly because of the rapid drying and avoid rolling into oil that has already dried. Allow the surface to dry for at least 2-3 hours. Then sand the dried oil application intermediately with grit P220-P280. A P220 sanding sponge is best for this - Dust the surface well. Apply the second oil coat evenly with a microfibre roller and allow to dry. During application, a colour deepening occurs in the wet phase, which disappears after complete drying.
The surface is dry and brittle? The water resistance is weakening? - Now it's time for maintenance! The following applies to everyday cleaning:
Regular dusting forms the basis. Regular damp care with wood soap ensures quick cleanliness and regreasing. Never use all-purpose or conventional household cleaners, as these can leach out the wood and attack the protection. The wood can always be refreshed with OLI-Natura Wood Refresher. It renews the protective effect and provides a water-repellent surface without changing the colour tone of the wood. Worn areas on floors or stairs that have been treated with OLI-NATURA Scandic-Oil can be partially sanded and re-oiled without having to re-treat the entire surface.
Consumption: With 2 applications and depending on the absorbency of the substrate, approx. 60-80g per m² this corresponds to 12-15 m² per litre.
Drying: Depending on humidity and temperature, the surface is: dust-dry after 1 hour, carefully walkable after 2 hours. Protect from water during the first 3-5 days until complete curing.
