OLI-NATURA Colour-Oil
Protect and colour with just one application
.OLI-NATURA Colour-Oils made from linseed oil are based on our OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil - but combined with colour pigments. It is suitable for the initial and subsequent treatment of wooden furniture and protect & colour with only one application of oil. The different colour shades are ideal for raw and freshly sanded furniture and stairs made of wood, veneer or MDF. The fast-curing colour oils are abrasion-resistant and create a matt, water-repellent & resistant surface. The pigmented "OLI-NATURA Colour-Oil" is available in five colours, all of which are mixable with each other. To achieve a less intense colour result, the Colour-Oil can be mixed with the OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil.
.The OLI-NATURA Colour-Oils, rich in solids, are based onmodified, unsaturated vegetable oils such as linseed oil and tung oil as well as lightfast earth/mineral pigments. When exposed to oxygen, the oil molecules cross-link and harden viscoplasticly inside the wood. The colour oils contain neither biocidal agents nor preservatives and are manufactured without cobalt-containing compounds as well as oximes.
The cured material is harmless to humans, animals and plants. It complies with the applicable provisions of the German Food, Commodities and Feed Code (LFGB) and Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 and can therefore be used without hesitation on wooden surfaces that come into contact with food. It complies with DIN EN 71-3 (Safety of toys) and DIN 53160 (Saliva and sweat fastness).
The application:
Preparation: Carefully sand the wood surface. Start with coarse sanding, final sanding with grit 180-240. The wood moisture content should be 8-12%. The surface must be dry, free of grease, thoroughly cleaned and free of sanding dust. Apply material at room temperature. Tip: If possible, neutralise woods containing tannic acid, such as oak, before oiling.
Application: Massage in oil with beige pad by hand or random orbital sander until surface is evenly wetted. Re-oil in dry areas. Within 30 minutes, remove wet oil with a cotton cloth or oil absorbent cloth and buff out. The surface should feel dry. If necessary, polish again the following day with a white polishing pad, cotton or oil absorbent cloth and a little oil (5-10 ml/m²).
.The surface is dry and brittle? The water resistance and colour depth is diminishing? - Now it's time for maintenance!
In order to maintain the protective effect, oiling should be done occasionally. To do this, simply apply a little oil to a beige pad or cotton cloth and gently massage it in.
The following applies to everyday cleaning:
Regular dusting forms the basis. For light soiling, it is usually sufficient to wipe the surface with a damp cotton cloth and then wipe dry. Stubborn dirt can be removed gently with our wood soap - diluted with water or pure, depending on the degree of soiling. Do not use all-purpose or conventional household cleaners, as these can leach out the wood and attack the protection. To maintain the protective effect, oil the wood occasionally. To do this, simply apply a little oil to a beige pad or cotton cloth and massage in gently.
Consumption: 1 application, depending on the absorbency of the wood approx. 20-40 ml/m² per application (approx. 25-50 m²/l).
Drying: Depending on humidity/temperature, the surface is dust-dry after 1-2 hours, fully cured after 5-7 days. During this time, protect from water and handle with care.
NOTE: Oil-soaked cloths/pads can self-ignite due to heat build-up! Therefore, clean them immediately after use or store them under water. The product itself is of course not self-igniting.
