OLI-NATURA Skogen-Oil

Light-Wood-Oil without yellow tint

OLI-NATURA Skogen-Oil is the answer for all those who want to avoid the undesirable yellow tint on light-colored woods and at the same time gently light the wood. "Skogen", Swedish for "forest", is an environmentally friendly VOC-free Scandinavian light wood oil that is free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It offers healthy and effective protection for furniture, doors, stairs and wall and ceiling panels made from light-colored Nordic hardwoods and softwoods.

Thanks to the innovative oil-in-water emulsion, Skogen-Oil emphasizes the natural wood color without yellowing, perfect for light woods such as birch, pine and spruce. It protects reliably, is water-repellent, has a pleasant fragrance, maintains the wood's breathing activity and ensures safety, as oil-soaked cloths/pads are not self-igniting.

Skogen Oil is easy to use: for optimum results, we recommend applying two coats with a fine sanding in between to smooth the wood fibers raised by the water content. With faster drying, Skogen-Oil enables complete wood treatment within one day.

This makes Skogen-Oil a safe, efficient and healthy choice for light-colored interior wood that can be easily re-oiled at any time.

Application

Preparation:Properly sand the wood surface. Final wood sanding for furniture with 240 grit. The wood moisture content should be between 8-12%. The substrate must be firm, dry, clean, non-slip, load-bearing and free of release agents. Apply material at room temperature. OPTIONAL STEPS: For woods rich in tannin, such as oak, water before oiling. Optionally add OLI-NATURA HS Hardener in a ratio of 10:1 for higher loads. The mixture can be processed for 3 hours.

Processing:

Shake: Shake/stir the container well.
Application: Apply the oil evenly with a brush, flat brush or foam roller in the direction of the grain. Re-oil dry areas.
Action time: Allow the oil to act and react for at least 2 hours until the surface is completely dry.
Intermediate sanding: Lightly sand the dry surface in the direction of the grain with P220-P280 grit to remove any raised wood fibers. Then carefully remove the dust.
Further application: Repeat the oil application as described in step 3.
Polishing: Polish the wet oil immediately with a white or beige pad by hand or random orbital sander without leaving any residue. Remove any excess oil with an oil absorbent cloth. The surface must feel dry to the touch!

Consumption: 2 coats, approx. 40-60 g/m² per coat (15-25 m²/l) depending on the type of wood and absorbency of the substrate.

Drying: Depending on humidity and temperature, the surface is: dust-dry after 1-2 hours, fully hardened after 3-5 days. During this time, protect from water, do not clean when damp and treat with care. At low temperatures and high humidity, the drying time is extended accordingly.
