Used individually, they have a significant advantage: they arecompletely free in the visual design of the room and not bound to a specific dimension. This allows you to perfectly match your slat moldings in the living room to the existing furniture and colors, while highlighting the character of the furnishings.

Slat walls have similar positive effects on the acoustic climate as acoustic panels and thus contribute to a cozy atmosphere and a lower noise level. However, these advantages come with a slightly higher effort: the wooden slats are individually mounted by hand to form a slat wall, while you can use an acoustic panel as a whole.

Installing wooden wall slats: this is how it's done

Mounting slat strips is a little more complicated, but it's surprisingly easy to do. This is how you do it:

First sketch out a draft of how you imagine your slat wall or slat strips in your living room.
Measure the points on the wall where you want to mount them. To achieve even distances, you should mark the line at least at the top and bottom.
Now apply mounting adhesive to the back of a slat and press it onto the wall at the marked points. The correct and completely straight alignment works better if you do the work in pairs. Proceed in the same way with the remaining slat battens. Always allow time for the mounting adhesive to dry so that the moldings do not come loose from the wall again.

Alternatively, use screws to mount the wall slats in the living room. Using screws is indispensable if you want to mount the slat moldings on the ceiling.
